Hells Gate Geothermal Reserve & Mud Spa

The site is relatively large and it’s interesting to walk around to see different formations of geothermal. It took us a little over an hour plus a pit stop at the carving workshop. The afternoon got quite hot in late December especially the site doesn’t have much shaded areas. The spa was relaxing, the downside is that it got crowded as it’s during the Christmas holiday period.

It was once in a lifetime experience you wont want to miss. We enjoyed everything especially the mud.

Absolutely loved this mud bath & spa in natural surroundings, will definitely do this again, felt so good afterwards and it was also great fun.

This park is a fantastic place to spend a few hours just exploring and taking in the surroundings, full of moonscapes of boiling mud.
