<p>Aoraki is gorgeous throughout every season, and the best time to visit depends on how you&rsquo;d like to spend your time here. During the summer months (December to February), the weather is ideal for hikers and wilderness adventurers, with a range of outdoor activities to enjoy. On the other hand, winter (June to August) offers fantastic skiing and snowboarding opportunities if you&rsquo;re planning a snow holiday.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Aoraki Mount Cook is accessible by car, bus, or plane. The nearest airport is in Queenstown, approximately a 4-hour drive away. From here, you can either <a href="https://www.backpackerdeals.com/cars-rental" target="_blank"><strong><u>rent a car</u></strong></a> or <a href="https://www.backpackerdeals.com/campervans-rental" target="_blank"><strong><u>hire a campervan</u></strong></a> and drive to Aoraki Mount Cook. Alternatively, you can save yourself a drive and hop on a guided tour or scenic flight from Queenstown that offers return transport.&nbsp;</p>

<p>To properly experience everything this unique destination has to offer, we&rsquo;d suggest spending at least 2-3 days here.
