All you will need for this tour is your walking/sport shoes and active clothing. We will send you a full gear list after your booking is complete.

Spend a day on the Port Hills at one of Christchurch&#39;s most spectacular climbing areas. If you&#39;re entirely new to climbing and want to give it a go or a seasoned climber looking for some local tips, this is the trip for you.

&nbsp;

From the city centre, it&#39;s a 30 min&nbsp;drive up to the rock climbing area. The drive up the hill will take you through some of Christchurch&#39;s most affluent suburbs, affording uninterrupted views from the Pacific Ocean to the Southern Alps in the west.

&nbsp;

The climbing areas used are scattered across the summit of an enormous extinct volcano that formed Banks Penninsula and Lyttelton Harbour. With over 2000 established climbing routes, Christchurch is one of the largest and most popular climbing areas in New Zealand.

&nbsp;

From the carpark, it&#39;s only a short walk to the crag (climbing area). Your guide will set up the ropes and give you a safety briefing and belay lesson before you start your first climb. Once you&#39;re feeling confident with the climbing systems, they will help you to improve your technique. Throughout the day, your guide will continue to set up climbs that will be challenging, achievable and safe for the group.

&nbsp;

You&#39;ll also enjoy lunch up at the crag overlooking either Christchurch City or Lyttelton Harbour.

&nbsp;

After lunch, you&#39;ll get to have a go at abseiling, where you will have the opportunity to lower yourself off one of the crags. If you&#39;re keen on some more climbing or abseiling, your guide will be happy to find the perfect spot to finish the day.

1.2 All bookings must be completed via the Operator&rsquo;s online booking system.

1.3 Booking is not confirmed until The Operator sends an email receipt accepting and confirming the booking.

2. Booking agents/third party bookings.

2.1 Booking agents may not book participants onto the tours without prior written agreement with The Operator

2.2 Payment must be made in full or the full amount held at the time of booking.

2.3 It is the responsibility of the booking agents or online booking site to provide a refund where is approved and required to do so by The Operator

5. Cancellations by The Operator

5.1 A tour is cancelled by The Operator will receive a 100% refund including the associated booking fees

5.2 The Operator is not responsible for any additional or associated cost incurred by the participants if a tour is cancelled.

5.3 A tour may be cancelled by The Operator because of but not limited to the following reasons: Bad/un-suitable weather conditions, natural disasters, road closures, availability of staff, political or social unrest.

6. Refunds

6.1 Refunds will be provided in accordance with our terms and conditions.

6.2 Refunds are provided from the place of booking and will only be provided by The Operator if the original booking was made directly with The Operator.

7. Participant release (leaving a tour before the scheduled endpoint)

7.1 participants may leave a tour before the scheduled endpoint of a tour at their own expense.

7.2 Participants who leave a tour early are not entitled to any refunds or financial contributions.

7.3 Some locations used by The Operator are remote and may have a significant expense associated with leaving that location outside of the scheduled tour. The Operator by nature is not responsible for the organization or expense incurred in extracting a participant from a tour.

8. Travel and Health insurance

9. Personal belongings
