The tour has flexible start and finish options from Alice Springs or Yulara. Alice Springs departures include accommodation pick-up at approximately 6am. Yulara departures include pick-up from the front of Desert Gardens Hotel at 1:45pm or Ayers Rock Airport at 2pm. The nearest airports mentioned by the tour operator are Alice Springs Airport and Ayers Rock Airport. Finish times vary depending on your option: Alice Springs around 6pm on Day 3, or Yulara at 9am on Day 4 for the 3-night option.
You'll stay in a twin-share permanent eco tent. If you're travelling solo, you'll be paired with someone of the same gender. A single supplement for your own tent is available on request.
This is an active adventure for fit travellers. You'll hike around 5–10km per day over uneven terrain, often in high temperatures. The tour is suitable for children aged 8 years and over. You'll also be expected to help with simple tasks such as meal preparation, setting up camp and tidying up.
Comprehensive travel insurance is strongly recommended. The tour operator recommends cover for medical expenses, emergency repatriation, cancellation, curtailment, liability and luggage.
Bring comfortable closed-in hiking shoes, lightweight breathable clothing, long-sleeved shirts and long pants, warm layers, a puffer jacket, gloves and beanie for winter nights, a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, a torch or headlamp, power bank and chargers, toiletries, insect repellent, personal medication and a day pack. You'll also need enough water bottles to carry 3 litres for the Kings Canyon Rim Walk.
Luggage is limited to 15kg in a soft bag, plus a carry-on day pack. Hard cases are not permitted.

The tents are built on raised wooden platforms with mesh windows and roll-up sides. Shared bathrooms have flushing toilets and hot showers, while screened kitchen and dining areas are available. The Kings Canyon camp also has a basic pool during warmer months.
