We love this because of the different types of environment and nature offered on the island and it's fine food and produce. Yum!
Are you ready to explore one of the most beautiful areas in Tasmania? Bruny Island is one of Tasmania’s most iconic locations, and it's just waiting to be discovered! This is an active tour that perfectly combines relaxing, sightseeing and nature vibes. There is no set itinerary your guides will tailor the tour to suit the group and weather conditions.
Itinerary:
It's impossible to fit all of Bruny Island's highlight into one day, but this tour tries its hardest.
You're off early with pickups from 7.00 am. From Hobart, take a drive down to Kettering (30 mins) where you'll catch the ferry over to the island. As you travel, head up to the top deck and take in views of the approaching beauty! The ferry ride lasts 20 minutes.
Hoping of the boat, take a moment to soak up the beauty around you. This tour has options designed to fit in with the day's weather (as Tassie can be unpredictable!) so you're guaranteed to have the best experience possible on the day.
There are a range of nature walks to enjoy around the island, like the Tempered Rainforest walk which will take you through lush rainforest alongside Waterfall Creek. If it's warm enough, you'll also enjoy swimming in pristine lagoons and the ocean.
As you drive around the island, you'll take in spectacular scenery and views of the glistening Tasman Sea. Stop at various lookouts along the way for some great snaps.
You'll visit the Neck - a picturesque area with boardwalks and observation platforms to give you the best views.
Then, it's onto the Cape Bruny Lighthouse for more views and a bit of history.
Keep your eyes out for wildlife as you travel too - there are tons of native animals to see here.
And don't forget the tastings! Bruny Island is home to some of the best wine, cheese, chocolate, seafood and fruit, and you get to try this award-winning produce today!
After feasting with your eyes and your bellies, you'll hop back on the ferry and return to Hobart at approximately 5.30 pm.
Please note: Tastings at own cost if you wish to sample. You will stop for lunch at the Bruny Island pub. Lunch is at own cost. You can also bring your own lunch if you would prefer.
