Enjoy an in-depth Indigenous experience at Rainforestation Nature Park! Join a Pamagirri Guide for an educational rainforest walkabout. Learn Indigenous art techniques and paint your own canvas or boomerang. Watch didgeridoo and spear throwing presentations and learn how to throw a boomerang. During this tour, you'll get to enjoy a traditional dance performance. The tour also includes exploring the rainforest on an authentic WW2 Army Duck! Meet Australian animals in the Koala and Wildlife Park. The tour includes Aussie BBQ lunch and return transport to your accommodation.
From 8:40am: Travel to Rainforestation Nature Park by coach via the scenic Kuranda Range.
From 9:15am: The tour arrives at Rainforestation Nature Park. Your tour includes an Army Duck Rainforest Tour with Tropical Fruit Orchard. You'll travel deep into the rainforest on both land and water with a guide. The tour will stop so that you can join a Pamagirri Dreamtime Walk. Along the way, you can learn to throw a boomerang and watch spear-throwing and didgeridoo playing. The Pamagirri Dance Performance will be on display in the rainforest amphitheatre for you to enjoy during the tour. You'll also have the chance to learn more about native wildlife from dedicated keepers at the Koala and Wildlife Park. Check out the crocodiles, wombats, snakes, dingoes and a cassowary, and hand-feed kangaroos and wallabies. You’ll have an opportunity to take a photo with a koala or holding a small crocodile. Enjoy a delicious hot lunch at the onsite restaurant.
From 1:00pm: During your Pamagirri Rainforest Walkabout, your Pamagirri guide will lead you through the rainforest, pointing out different plants, fruits and berries traditionally used as food and remedies. Learn about Aboriginal huts (gunyas), artefacts, and implements. As an added bonus, you’ll join an Aboriginal art workshop with a Pamagirri artist, where you will learn about painting techniques, storytelling, and traditions. You'll have time to create and take home your very own Aboriginal canvas artwork!
From 2:00pm: The tour departs from the Rainforestation with a transfer into Kuranda Village. Upon arrival to Kuranda Village, you'll have time to wander through the shops and markets that offer local handicrafts, souvenirs, and gifts. Check out the Australian Butterfly Sanctuary with a 10% discount off your entry fee!
From 3:00pm: Your coach bus departs from outside the Australian Butterfly Sanctuary for your transfer to your accommodation.
