You will start your tour in Ho Chi Minh City (Formally known as Saigon) The Airport here is Tan Son Nhat International Airport (SGN).

As for the end of the tour, you will finish in Hanoi. So if you are looking to fly out from Hanoi, you'll want to head to Noi Bai International Airport (HAN).

A lot of the passengers on this trip are single travellers, so it’s a great way to meet new people. Most of the guests are solo travellers.

The tour operator cannot guarantee single sex rooming arrangements in multi-share accommodation, but twin share rooms will always be single sex.

While in Pu Luong homestay you will stay in one big room, a very unique traditional stay, and it does have curtains between sleeping areas and multiple bathrooms. Also overnight trains will be multi-share rooms.

There is an age range of 18 – 45 years old for this tour. Most of the guests are aged between 21-35 years old, though this range varies to slightly older with certain destinations, and are looking to experience our adventurous 'flashpacking' style of travel.

Train travel in Vietnam is very basic. Sleeper trains normally have 4 seats per compartment, which convert into sleeping bunks (two upper and two lower). A sheet, pillow and blanket are provided, although many people prefer to bring their own sleeping sheet. At times, passengers of different genders may be required to share a sleeper train berth and/or share a compartment with people not travelling in your group.

All countries require a valid passport (with a minimum 6 months validity).

Please see the government website for whether you will need a visa to enter Vietnam. This topic is continually changing, so we recommend you do relevant research on the government websites.

It is your own responsibility to have the correct travel documentation. Visa requirements for your trip will vary depending on where you are from and where you are going.

Yes, travel insurance is compulsory on this trip.

Unbeatable locations, stylish interiors, sparkling pools, and the level of comfort that One Life accommodation is known for. They mix up the fancier places with some nights in a remote homestay where you will eat, sleep, and live like the locals for that truly authentic experience.

With twin rooms throughout (even on the cruise), all the accommodation options have been selected to ensure you get the best of what Vietnam has, without breaking the bank. Clean, comfortable, and perfect to recharge after a big day of adventure

The tour operator cannot guarantee single sex rooming arrangements in multi-share accommodation, but twin share rooms will always be single sex.

Every traveller is different and therefore spending money requirements will vary. Some travellers may drink more than others while other travellers like to purchase more souvenirs than most. Please consider your own spending habits when it comes to allowing for drinks, shopping and tipping. Please also remember the following specific recommendations when planning your trip.

You can have a plate of food for a street vendor for AU$1-$6, however there are always more expensive options. From a mid-range, sit-down restaurant, expect to pay AU$6-$30 - not including alcohol.

Please bring something that will cover your shoulders and knees. Temples do have dress codes and if your shoulders or knees are exposed you will be denied entry. Your guide will tell you on which days to wear these items so you’re prepared and ready.

Please be aware that there are nights scheduled for overnight train travel during your Vietnam tour. To enhance your comfort and convenience, we highly recommend travelling with a backpack and packing light! 15-20kgs of stuff should be plenty. Australia is a BIG country so dragging around a huge bag is not fun.

If you have an existing medical condition or disability that may affect your trip or how the Operator delivers your experience, they ask that you inform them in writing at the time of your booking. You may be asked to obtain a medical certificate, and if they reasonably feel they are unable to accommodate your particular needs, they reserve the right to decline your booking.

While travelling on this tour, you'll experience a vast array of wonderful food. Your group leader will be able to suggest restaurants to try during your trip. To give you maximum flexibility in deciding where, what and with whom to eat, only some meals are included in this tour price.

This also gives you more budgeting flexibility. As a rule, groups tend to eat together to enable you to taste a larger variety of dishes and enjoy each other's company. If you have dietary requirements and/or food allergies, please let The Operator know at the time of booking or prior to departure.

Before embarking on your exciting journey to Vietnam, it's crucial to prioritize your health and safety.

We highly recommend visiting your doctor for personalized medical advice before travel. Here are some indications for vaccinations that are recommended for Vietnam:

  • Typhoid: Recommended, ideally 2 weeks before travel.
  • Hepatitis A: Recommended, ideally 2 weeks before travel.
  • Cholera: Recommended, ideally 2 weeks before travel.
  • Tuberculosis: Recommended, ideally 3 months before travel.
  • Hepatitis B: Recommended, ideally 2 months before travel.
  • Rabies: Recommended, ideally 1 month before travel.
  • Yellow fever: Certificate of vaccination required if arriving from a high-risk area, ideally 10 days before travel.
  • Japanese B encephalitis: Recommended, ideally 1 month before travel.

Remember, these are general guidelines, and your doctor can offer personalised advice based on your health history and specific travel plans. Prioritising your health will ensure you have a safe and enjoyable adventure in Vietnam!
